For many years now, I have been researching my family tree, on my father's side, having been prompted by a relative of my mother's who has researched her side of the family a long way back So far, I have traced my tree back to the following:
- Bousfield (Durham - early 1800s)
- Brown (Hexham - 1840)
- Charlton (Northumberland - early 1800s)
- Colbeck (Northumberland - early 1700s)
- Coxon (Northumberland - early 1700s)
- Handyside, Handasyde (and other variations) (Wooler, Northumberland - early 1700s)
- Irwin (Chester le Street, Durham, 1700s and Allendale, Northumberland, 1800s)
- Philipson (Allendale, Northumberland, 1700s to 1800s)
- Proctor (Northumberland - early 1700s)
- Southern (one branch from Northumberland - early 1800s - and a second branch, also from Northumberland and who precede the Coxons and Colbecks - who go back to the early 1600s)
- Revely (Northumberland - early 1800s)
- Robson (Gosforth, Northumberland - early 1800s)
- Tattersfield (Dewsbury, 1600s-1800s)
The names for which I have significant information each have a page of their own giving
more information - and I have a lot more. Just click on the surname.
I would be delighted to share information and evidence with anyone who thinks that
their family tree overlaps!
